Your Vegan And Vegetarian Dining Guide For The Gold Coast

In recent years, the vegetarian and vegan Gold Coast dining scene has exploded. Aside from that, provenance, food education, sustainability, and healthier eating practices are all gaining popularity. Gone are the days when ordering a vegetarian meal meant getting a plate of boring old green salad and steamed veggies. These days, you’ve got so many more options to choose from! Think beyond the classic tofu and tempeh. Now you can find vegan, “Chinese-style,” paleo, and even lactose-free meals to suit your taste buds. The world of vegetarian cuisine has truly expanded!

The best vegan and vegetarian dining on the Gold Coast is Blendlove, I Like Ramen, Greenhouse Canteen, Giri Kana Cafe, Kuan Yin Tea House, Goodness Gracias, Lord of the Fries, and Govindas Pure Vegetarian.

The best vegetarian restaurants on the Gold Coast teach us the value of using the highest-quality, locally sourced ingredients, inventive food pairings, and superior cooking methods. Here is a list of the Gold Coast restaurants that serve vegetarian and vegan food.

Blendlove

Blendlove is a popular café in Southport, Gold Coast. It’s all thanks to its delicious and nutritious plant-based cuisine. Their menu is entirely plant-based. Plus, it’s free from gluten, refined sugars, and preservatives.

They offer a range of locally sourced, organic dishes. Among those are breakfast and smoothie bowls, salads, wraps, and raw desserts. Two of the most popular dishes at Blendlove are the Acai Bowl and Green Goodness Bowl. Try them when you swing by.

In addition, the café offers a range of specialty drinks. Check out their organic coffee, herbal teas, and house-made nut milks. For those with a sweet tooth, Blendlove has a selection of raw desserts. The Raw Caramel Slice, made with dates, cashews, coconut oil, and cacao is among the must-try.

Blendlove’s welcoming and relaxing atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating options is adorned with plants and artwork. This creates a calming and inviting space for dining and socializing. The café prioritizes sustainability by using biodegradable packaging and composting food waste. They also support local farmers and suppliers with sustainable and ethical practices. Blendlove is open from 7 AM to 3 PM beginning from Monday to Saturday and from 8 AM – 3 PM on Sundays.

I Like Ramen

I Like Ramen is the first-ever ramen store that sells 100% plant-based ramen in Australia. It makes this restaurant a fantastic option for vegan and vegetarian diners looking for a delicious and satisfying meal on the Gold Coast. The restaurant’s Japanese-inspired dishes are flavorful and comforting, with plenty of options to choose from. They also serve delicious fares like burgers, baos, and our personal favourites, kimchi potatoes, and panko-crusted mushrooms.

Moreover, they’ve developed ramen dishes that are on par with (if not better than) any others you’ll try. Not to mention their range of Japanese-inspired drinks, such as sake and matcha tea, and a selection of beers and wines.

The restaurant is open from 5 PM – 9 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. On Fridays, it stays open until late; on weekends, it opens at 11:30 am and closes late. The kitchen closes at 9 pm, and the bar closes at 10 pm. Check the events page for Tuesday openings.

Greenhouse Canteen

Greenhouse Canteen, one of the original vegan restaurants on the Gold Coast, has an excellent menu. They have a botanical bar where you can order a variety of vegan cocktails, beer, or wine, and the atmosphere is always upbeat. Most people try the Eggplant Moussaka and the Jackfruit Enchiladas, so why not try it too? Additionally, Greenhouse Canteen offers takeaway packs similar to Kentucky Fried Jackfruit if you prefer to eat in.

From Tuesday to Sunday, Greenhouse Canteen serves dinner from 5 pm. To make reservations or view their menu, please visit the following page: https://www.greenhousecanteen.com/miami.

Giri Kana Cafe

Looking for delicious healthy vegan and vegetarian dining in the Northern area of the Gold Coast? Don’t lose hope; the Giri Kana Café is still open. Maha (Maryanne) had managed to bring her fortune of philosophy and vegetarian cuisine to Giri Kana, which means “food from goodness.”

This welcoming café beneath the H2O building welcomes us as a healthy haven. It is among the best entirely vegetarian restaurants on the Gold Coast with vegan options and gluten-free. Aside from that, they also offer excellent organic coffee.

The cafe serves organic coffee during specific hours, on weekdays from 7 AM to 4 PM & 7 AM to 3 PM on weekends. Additionally, last orders for coffee, juices, smoothies, burgers, and kofta pockets are taken 30 minutes before closing time.

On the other hand, the menu at Giri Kana Cafe offers a wide range of dishes, including breakfast bowls, salads, wraps, and mains, with vegan and gluten-free options available. Some of their popular dishes include the green bowl, which features quinoa, avocado, and roasted vegetables, and the veggie burger, made with a homemade patty and served with sweet potato fries.

Kuan Yin Tea House

Kuan Yin Tea House is among the Gold Coast’s only three Chinese-style vegetarian restaurants. The restaurant serves vegetarians in Southport, and it is a straightforward café with beige walls, a linoleum floor, and decorative panels of bamboo wallpaper.

However, being modest in terms of price and décor does not imply a lack of options. The menu is divided up into rice sets, snacks, “meat” and noodle dishes, and soups, almost all of which are priced under $10.

On the other hand, drinks are showcased separately; black and green teas, milk teas, Taiwanese specialty teas, and fresh juices are listed on two pages. The size and appearance of each dish are accurately depicted in the menu photos at Kuan Yin. Additionally, it is clearly indicated (in pink) which cuisines are suitable for vegans, gluten-free, and whether they contain dairy or eggs.

Goodness Gracias

Goodness Gracias serves plant-based Mexican food in a lively Palm Beach setting. Moreover, it has long been an absolute vegan favourite on the Gold Coast. The eatery is a popular spot for brunch, lunch, to dinner, as well as for drinks with friends in the evening. You can choose from mouth-watering dishes like burritos, tacos, nachos, and a variety of delectable sides and salads whether you eat in or take out.

In addition, Goodness Gracias is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious and unique Mexican cuisine on the Gold Coast. With its commitment to fresh, locally sourced ingredients and its range of vegan and vegetarian options, it’s no wonder why it’s a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

Lord of the Fries

If there’s one thing we can support, it’s a fast-food restaurant that serves mainly potatoes. All of the vegan fries at Lord of the Fries are being sold out. Lord of the Fries offers Onion Rings (Lord of the Rings), Veggie Burgers, Vegetarian Hot Dogs, and Vegetarian Nuggets in addition to those crispy, delicious gifts from God. Everything is Halal and kosher, too. You’ll become a huge fan after just one bite, no contest.

Govindas Pure Vegetarian

Govindas is a smaller and more intimate restaurant than Cardamom Pod. Ideal for those looking for a more hurried meal.

Although the dishes on display are the only options available, they are all delicious, and the portions are large. You pay for the quantity of food you order; for instance, a meal with rice and two dishes cost about $12 as of this writing, while it costs $14 for three dishes. Check out their pricing at https://govindas.net.au/#menu.

Moreover, Govinda’s meals don’t contain eggs, are vegetarian, don’t contain garlic and onions, as well as being certified organic and pesticide-free. The vegetarian curry is delectable, the salad with grated beetroot, garbanzo beans, prunes, and sunflower seeds is crunchy and fresh, and the samosas are magnanimous in size and stuffed with vegetables.

However, the kofta balls in a creamy sauce with a tomato base stand out as our favourite dish. It’s incredible! There is also a delectable selection of desserts available.

In addition, Govindas provides catering services for functions and events. With their expertise in vegetarian and vegan cuisine, they offer a delightful culinary experience for gatherings of all sizes. For optimal service, it is recommended to provide a notice of 5-7 days in advance. While they strive to accommodate requests with shorter notice, they cannot guarantee availability.
