For seafood lovers like me, seafood restaurants with a view of the Gold Coast are among my favourite spots. It’s only fair that seafood is served in a place with a good view, so there’s always a beeline from the sea to the waterfront restaurants on the Gold Coast. There is nothing quite as satisfying as indulging in fresh local fish while taking in a view of the ocean, whether it be buckets of the freshest prawns, salty fish and chips on the seaside, or a decadent seafood platter. If you agree, here are my top picks for you to read.
The best seafood restaurants with a view of the Gold Coast include BMD Northcliffe Surf Club, Edgewater, Currumbin Vikings Surf Club, Beachside Pavilion, Fish Shak, Hyde Paradiso, Glass Dining & Lounge Bar, and Seascape Restaurant and Bar.
BMD Northcliffe Surf Club
Surf lifesavers in BMD Northcliffe Surf Club do far more than look good in yellow and red and keep the beaches safe; they are also secret dining winners, especially their clubhouses. Northcliffe Surf Club is the ideal place to order a parmy and enjoy a mid-sized beer while watching the action on the beach in air-conditioned comfort. It is located on a corner of prime Surfers Paradise beachfront real estate.
Are you a beer enthusiast? Three white tanks of preservative-free Balter XPA Tank Beer hang just above the bar. The freshest beer is the one that’s just been brewed. It doesn’t get any fresher than that.
Burleigh Pavilion
Burleigh Pavilion is nestled on the shores of Burleigh Heads, offering breathtaking views of the sparkling ocean. The sound of crashing waves and the salty sea breeze welcome you, instantly transporting you to a coastal paradise.
Upon entering the restaurant, you’re greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance. The interior is stylishly designed, combining contemporary elements with a relaxed beachside atmosphere. Large windows frame the panoramic views, allowing natural light to flood the space and giving you a sense of being connected to the ocean at all times.
The views aren’t the only thing that has people drooling at Burleigh Pavilion. This well-known establishment meets beach revellers’ needs with casual beers and post-swim bites on The Terrace. To top it all, this place has a breathtaking breezy look and feel and a produce-driven menu (including local ingredients, woodfired pizzas, seafood platters, and burgers). Check out Burleigh Pavilion’s menu here!
Seascape Restaurant and Bar
In Surfers Paradise, Seascape is a three-leveled Gold Coast seafood restaurant of the Soul Boardwalk. Each level offers a distinctive dining experience and expansive views. The first-floor bistro is the perfect place to enjoy casual bites such as fish tacos, grilled scallops, and cocktails. Meanwhile, floor-to-ceiling windows upstairs overlook the ocean and provide a stunning view as soon as you step inside the restaurant.
The sleek decor adds to the luxurious feel of the space, making it the perfect place to enjoy a special meal. With six different daily catches, fish takes centre stage, accompanied by mouth-watering sides like tempura asparagus with sticky soy, potato galette, and heirloom carrots added with truffled honey. Having just returned from the beach? Take a coldie up to the roof.
Seascape Restaurant and Bar are open from 6 pm, Wednesday to Saturday. For private events, the Rooftop of Seascape Restaurant and Bar is available in the summer months (from November to April).
Glass Dining & Lounge Bar
Glass Dining & Lounge Bar is a seafood restaurant with a classy modern Gold Coast venue. Looking out over the marina and Broadwater, you can enjoy fresh seafood and bubbly champagne at this popular spot on the Northern Gold Coast. It’s an excellent combination.
Glass Dining & Lounge Bar also offers a wide range of hot seafood platters for boat catering. Every platter is intended for four to five people. Take note that their earliest catering time is 11 AM.
Hyde Paradiso
Hyde Paradiso, an icon in Vegas, Los Angeles, and Miami (Florida), is the first flagship Australian site from HYDE, a US-hospitality brand. The paradise-like Surfers Paradise was the perfect location for the launch of the restaurant, which was received with great acclaim.
The hotspot, a part of Peppers Soul Surfers Paradise, exudes a Mediterranean vibe. It is mainly because of its pastel colours, white archways, mosaic tiles, DJ parties, and sgroppino bar with a Venetian theme. Aside from that, it has a never-ending ocean view, both day and night.
At Hyde Paradiso, the menu overflows with a myriad of delightful brunch options, ensuring there’s something to satisfy every palate. From indulgent oysters and refreshing mimosas to delectable arancini, fresh bread, and delectable cold meats, the choices seem endless. What’s even more enticing is that Hyde Paradiso offers a standard brunch experience priced at only $99 per person, allowing you to indulge in a luxurious feast without breaking the bank. For those who prefer a vegan option, the restaurant goes above and beyond by providing a thoughtfully curated vegan brunch, also available at the same irresistible price point.
In addition, the restaurant also offers bar bites like fried halloumi chips and Greek-style spanakopita if you’re looking for something lighter. And if you’re really hungry, they have larger plates of Portuguese-roasted chicken, lamb ragu, and 300g Cape Grim rib eye. This place has covered you no matter what you’re in the mood for.
Fish Shak
Families love to hang out in Broadwater Parklands, so it’s impossible to miss the Fish Shak. The everyday catch of fish, prawn skewers to chowder, calamari to softshell crab burgers, and more are all available on their menu and can all be enjoyed while looking out over the picturesque Broadwater.

Currumbin Vikings Surf Club
Our surf clubs are well-known on the Gold Coast, but Currumbin Vikings is especially renowned for its breathtaking views of the Southern coastline. It’s because this seafood restaurant is located at the top of Currumbin Rock, with the surf crashing around its edges. My tip is that you shouldn’t leave without getting their mixed seafood platter.
Edgewater
Rick Shores in Burleigh Heads has developed a reputation for its award-winning cuisine and unrivalled waterfront venue since it opened its doors in 2016. It recently received a chef’s hat in the Australian Good Food Guide 2020. If you haven’t already, gather your friends and make a reservation at Edgewater. There’s nothing like enjoying good company and great seafood.
When combined with the restaurant’s oceanfront setting, Rick Shores’ intense flavours will make a lasting impact. Everything is delectable, from tamarind curry and smoked pork to bar snacks like Rick’s renowned fried bug roll.
