Experience the Best of Coolangatta’s Ocean Waters with the Cooly Classic Ocean Swim 2023

The Cooly Classic Ocean Swim will take place on April 30, 2023. It offers a range of distances for swimmers of different levels, with options from 1km to 5km. However, the 2.0km event from Snapper Rocks up to Kirra Beach is the most popular among participants.
The swim starts at Snapper Rocks. It is among the world’s most renowned surf breaks. What follows is an unbending line to Kirra Beach, passing by Greenmount, Rainbow Bay, as well as beaches of Coolangatta.

Whether you opt for the 2.0km, 3.0km, or 5.0km distance, you can expect to immerse yourself in the clean Southern Gold Coast waters in autumn. It is an experience no swimmer should miss. For those looking for a greater challenge, the 3.0km long course offers an extra leg beyond Kirra Point. Meanwhile, the 5.0km marathon distance swim is an extension of the existing 3.0km course. In this event, participants make a turn close to the North Kirra SLSC and go back to Kirra Beach.

Despite the range of options, the Cooly Classic 2.0 remains the main event and draws a large crowd every year. The swim commences at Snapper Rocks and follows the coast north, passing by Rainbow Bay, Greenmount, and Coolangatta before concluding at the iconic Kirra Beach.
